Since its formation in 1967, SCOG has contributed to regional economic development through the coordinated creation of numerous economic development plans. Part of SCOGs purpose is to connect Skagit County leaders to build a stronger Skagit region and plan for future growth.
Creating a prosperous and thriving community is a goal of leaders throughout Skagit County. Creating a comprehensive strategy that plans for workforce and talent, infrastructure, quality of life, diversification, and business support and then taking action to implement strategies is the process for Skagit County to realize a thriving community.
SCOG coordinated the most recent 2024 update to the Skagit County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). The plan was adopted by the SCOG Board of Directors on December 18, 2024.
