To find practical solutions to Skagit County’s transportation challenges, SCOG coordinates the development and adoption of transportation plans, such as the Skagit 2040 Regional Transportation Plan. These plans define a course of action for transportation improvements across the region. Programs support regional planning efforts. Transportation programs act as long-term portfolios of projects which bring the vision of the plans to reality.
As Skagit County’s federally recognized Metropolitan Planning Organization, SCOG is tasked with developing a Regional Transportation Improvement Program to implement projects identified in the Regional Transportation Plan.
The Unified Planning Work Program constitutes an annual scope of work for SCOG’s own transportation planning efforts.
