06 Feb Notice of Public Comment Period for National Highway Freight Program List of Projects
Notice is hereby given that the Skagit Council of Governments (SCOG) has made a proposed list of National Highway Freight Program projects available for public comment.
SCOG will submit a list of projects to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) on February 27, 2026. Selecting projects for funding is the responsibility of WSDOT through a statewide process. SCOG is assisting WSDOT by conducting a regional process of compiling projects and screening them for National Highway Freight Program eligibility prior to the statewide selection process. SCOG will not select projects for funding nor prioritize projects through this regional process.
The public comment period closes on February 17, 2026. Action on approval of the list of projects is anticipated at the February 18, 2026 SCOG Transportation Policy Board meeting. All written comments received on or before February 17 will be provided to the Transportation Policy Board at the meeting. Written comments must be emailed to grantj@scog.net or mailed to 315 South Third Street, Suite #100, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
